Available Treatments
Treatments We Provide
Verrucae
Usually treated in the first instance with silver nitrate which cauterises infected tissue e.g verruca and warts. We also have a new treatment for verrucas known as verrutop which is a relatively new medication used for the treatment of verrucas and warts. It uses a Nitrizinc complex which is applied to the verruca/wart. Verrutop works by drying up and desiccation of the lesions, which aids cell death.
Ingrowing nails
The offending piece of nail can be removed, dressed and given advise however the nail will most likely ingrow again. Our long term solution for that is nail surgery which we provide. The surgery involves injecting a dose of local anaesthetic so that the patient does not feel any pain during the procedure. It is then we remove the wedge (sliver) of nail that is pressing into the flesh causing your pain. Once the nail portion is removed, the wound is cauterised with a chemical called Phenol, this prevents this part of the nail bed from regrowing nail.
